Services for Arlie E. Harrill, 90, of Burneyville, were held at 2 p.m., Monday,
January 8, at Burneyville Baptist Church with the Rev. Wendall Brown
officiating.
Mr. Harrill was born March 28, 1910, at Chattanooga, the son of Frank and
Mattie Riding Harrill. He died Saturday, January 6, 2001, at Mercy Health Love
County, Marietta.
He had lived in Love County most of his life. He and Violet Hays were married
May 4, 1937, at Gainesville, Texas. He worked in the oilfield as a heavy
equipment operator, also at Falconhead Security, and was retired from the
Oklahoma State Highway Department. Mr. Harrill was always a willing giver to
anyone in need of help and was a member of Burneyville Baptist Church. His
favorite pastime was his garden which supplied many people a beautiful bounty.
Survivors include his wife, Violet of the home; one son and daugther-in-law,
Randy and Kay Harrill of Dallas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and
Bill Gipson of Burneyville, Arlene Nail of Lone Grove, and Tanya and Robert
Teafatiller of Burneyville; nine grandchildren, Wendy (Nail) McGahan, Scott
Nail, Lisa (Harrill) Johnson, Lynn (Harrill) Dugger, Rhedonna (Gipson) Ralls,
Dewayne Gipson, Michael Gipson, Shana (Teafatiller) Lyons and Stephanie
(Teafatiller) Metcalf; 17 great-grandchildren and one niece and nephew.
Mr. Harrill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Newlain
Harrill.
Pallbearers were Scott Nail, Dewayne Gipson, Michael Gipson, Phillip Ralls,
Larry Lyons and Bo Metcalf.
Interment in the Burneyville Cemetery was under the direction of Flanagan-Watts
Funeral Home.
The family has requested contributions be made to Cross Timbers Hospice c/o
Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
