Richard “Dude” Gale

No public services are planned for Richard “Dude” Gale who died May 3, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 86. Born June 24, 1912, at Terrell, Texas, Mr. Gale was the son of Richard Sr. and Zelda Coffman Gale.
He had lived in Love County since 1946, moving here from Gainesville, Texas. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Gale was awarded a bronze star for his service in Northern France. He was a retired farmer and rancher and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Gale was a member of the American Legion Post #136 of Marietta.
He is survived by two sisters, Juanita Stevens of Burneyville and Marie McCool of Madera, California; four nephews and a niece.
Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
