Services for Fairy Guy, 81, of Oklahoma City were held Wednesday, January 18, at 1:00 p.m. in the DeMuth Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, with Rev. C.E. Means and Rev. Woodrow Stevens officiating.
Born June 9, 1913, in Shawnee to Sherwood and Harriet Louisa Guy, Mr. Guy died January 16, 1995, in Mercy Health Center, Oklahoma City.
Mr. Guy married Florence Christina Johnson on March 22, 1940. A veteran of World War II, he served with the 45th Division, 18th Field Artillery in England, France, Germany, Belgium and Czechoslovakia. Mr. Guy participated in the American landing on Omaha Beach at Normandy and also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. In 1979 he retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas as a Safety Engineer after 34 years of service.
An American Red Cross Instructor, Mr. Guy had also been a member of the Oklahoma Safety Society, ONGOERS, Toastmasters, the Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended Evangelistic Center in Bethany.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Florence Guy of the home in Oklahoma City; two daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn and Van Willis of Marietta and Rhonda Guy of Oklahoma City; and two granddaughters, Lisa Willis of Norman and Kristin Willis of Marietta.
Mr. Guy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray Guy and Roy Guy; and a sister, Fay Matthews.
Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under the direction of DeMuth Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Oklahoma Natural Gas retired employees and friends, Ed Crowder, John Jodlowski, Bob Nettleton, Jim Owens, Dale Stafford and Ben Wilder.
