A memorial service for Robert S. Fox, 73, of Yakima, Washington, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at First Baptist Church in Sunnyside, Washington.
Mr. Fox was born September 16, 1928, at Milo, the son of Samuel Newton and "Fanny" Ward Fox. He died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at his residence in Yakima.
Mr. Fox was raised in the Marsden area and attended Meadowbrook School. He moved to the Yakima Valley from southern California and had resided there for over 17 years. Mr. Fox was a member of the First Baptist Church. He and his wife, Phyllis, operated a Fox Lawn & Garden Service in Sunnyside, Grandview and Prosser, Washington. In his earlier years he was active in the Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of the home; two sons, Steven Fox of Riverside, California and Tom Fox of Perkins; a daughter, Sheila Tanksley of Santa Barbara, California; a brother, James Walder Fox of Lebanon; two sisters, Frances Swinney of Marietta and Nellie Combe of Shawnee; a sister-in-law, Arlene Kruger; a step-son and two step-daughters; seven grandchildren and 13 step-grandchildren.
Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Irene, Jackie and Helen; a brother, Dow; two brothers in infancy and one step-daughter.
Arrangements are under the direction of Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah, Washington.
