Services for Nannie L. Flowers, 88, of Denison, Texas, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, with the Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating.
Mrs. Flowers was born August 3, 1913, at Ladonia, Texas, the daughter of John and Cora Stockwell Southerland. She died Thursday, February 14, 2002, in Texhoma Medical Center, Denison.
She had made her home in Marietta before moving to Denison in September 2001. Following the death of her first husband, Herman L. Flowers, she married Ted Barfield, who also preceded her in death. A retired private nurse, Mrs. Flowers was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, John and Sue Flowers of Denison, Bill Flowers of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Benny Barfield of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Julie Peoples of Sunnyvale, California; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Flowers was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Beatrice Foster and Maggie Rawls; and three brothers, Theodore Southerland, Johnny Southerland and Woodrow Southerland.
Pallbearers were John Flowers, Bill Flowers, Norman Flowers, Johnny Alan Flowers, E.B. Martin and Edwin Richardson.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
