Graveside services for Lonnie Murrel "Bidder" Foster, 50, of Thackerville, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 30, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, with the Rev. John Sconce officiating.
Mr. Foster was born May 18, 1951, in Thackerville, the son of Ed F. "Coot" and Elsa E. Verlinden Foster. He died Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at his residence.
A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Foster was employed as a State Park attendant at the I-35 Rest Area near Thackerville. He was married to the former Rita L. Mills. A graduate of Thackerville High School, Mr. Foster attended the First Baptist Church at Thackerville.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Foster of the home; his mother, Elsa Foster of Marietta; a son, David Cave of Greenville; two daughters, Tina Hickman of Greenville and Dana Frazier of Thackerville; a brother, Eddy Foster of Whitesboro, Texas; three sisters, Anita Wasden of Arlington, Texas, Terry Faulkenberry of Marietta and Robin Sorrell of Gainesville, Texas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his father, Ed. F. "Coot" Foster, on May 26, 2001; a grandson, James Cummins; and a nephew, Kenny Gaskins.
Pallbearers were Charles Thompson, David Dewbre, Michael Dewbre, Jerimiah Cummins, Royce Petty and Bunky Lemons. Honorary pallbearers were David Sconce, Carl Ellis, David Wasden, Jerry Putnam and Damon Frazier.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ardmore Animal Shelter, c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
