Services for Meredith Ray Evans, 53, of Keller, Texas, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 22, at the First Baptist Church in Marietta, with the Rev. Tommy Higle officiating.
Mr. Evans was born October 7, 1947, in Morton, Texas, the son of C.B. and Virginia Goodman Evans. He died Tuesday, September 18, 2001, in Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr. Evans had made his home in Keller since February 1998, previously living in Havre, Montana. He and Pat McGill were married in Marietta on February 25, 1966. Mr. Evans was manager of operations of Logistics/Ag Commodities for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad at the time of his death. He was a member of the Northwood Baptist Church in Keller.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Evans of the home; his mother, Virginia Evans of Marietta; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Rodney Evans of Little Rock, Arkansas, Rick and Leah Evans of Kansas City, Missouri, and Nathan Evans of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Jonathan Rodriguez of North Richland Hills, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Monty Jay and Vickie Evans of Henrico, North Carolina; a sister, Kay Dunnavent of Marietta; and two grandchildren, Chase and Carson.
Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his father, C.B. Evans Jr., on March 1, 1993.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Rodriguez, Chuck Martin, Vance McGill, Denzil McGill, Jerry McGill and Reagan Evans. Honorary pallbearers were Brock McMillin, Duane Hicks, John Biggar, Gary Harper, Don Neal, Randy McMillin, Kerry McGill, Denzil Perry McGill, Chuck McGill, Bill McGill and Doug Hicks.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
