Services for Bertha Lee Embry, 84, will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of Christ with Floyd Johnson, minister, officiating.
Born May 18, 1909, in Cooke County, Texas, Mrs. Embry died September 1, 1993, at her home in Marietta. She was the daughter of Dewitt and Flossie Massey Pearman.
A resident of Love County for 50 years, she married Lester Embry on April 2, 1931, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1981. Mrs. Embry was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Carol Embry of Ardmore; a daughter and son-in-law, LuAnn and Jim Locke of Marietta; two sisters, Margaret Hassell of Gainesville, Texas, and Georgie Hardy of Port Arthur, Texas; six grandchildren, Claudia Humphrey, Mike Embry, Kae Smith, Kerry Anderson, James Locke, and Joe Locke; and six great-grand-children.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery will be under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with grandsons, grandsons-in-law and Don Pearman serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Rudolph McGehee, Bill McGehee, Tom Dobbs, J. Claude Brannan, Norman Flanagan, Tim Hicks, and Jim Perdue.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, c/o Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home, 100 East Main, Marietta, OK 73448.
