Memorial services for Richard W. Davis, 87, of Glendale, California, were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, December 22, at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
Mr. Davis was born November 20, 1915, in Oklahoma. He died December 17, 2002, at Glendale.
A longtime resident of Glendale, Davis is the son of pioneer Love County residents, Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Davis, Sr.
He was a devoted graduate of the University of Oklahoma, making numerous trips back for the OU-Texas rivalry games. Mr. Davis served with the U.S. Army during World War II and served in the European Theater. Prior to retiring, he worked for the Treasury Department for 30 years.
Mr. Davis volunteered at Verdugo Hills Hospital, Oakmont Seniors, Federated Seniors, and assisted with the golf tournaments at Oakmont Country Club, where he served on the Board of Directors.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Kay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita Keithly and Debra Zikratch; and five grand-children.
