W.C. "Buddy" Cochran

Services for W.C. "Buddy" Cochran were Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Marietta's First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Higle officiating.
Mr. Cochran was born March 12, 1913, at Marietta and died January 4, 1997, at his residence in Marietta at the age of 83. He was the son of Eldon and Etta Collins Cochran.
A resident of Marietta all of his life, Mr. Cochran married the former Aria Kimsey on August 23, 1941, in Marietta. He was retired as Water Superintendent for the City of Marietta and also as a volunteer fireman for the City. Mr. Cochran was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta, a veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post #136 of Marietta.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Aria Cochran of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, William Kimsey and Harriet Cochran of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Carol Ann Cochran of Dallas, Texas; two granddaughters, Aria Alexandra Cochran and Kelly Gwendolyn Cochran; and several aunts and uncles.
Mr. Cochran was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roy Lee Cochran in 1990; and an infant sister, Pauline Cochran.
Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jackie Baker, James Segler, Mike Hobson, Willis Choate, Don Bone and Ray Elliott. Honorary bearers included O.I. Vinson, Roy Porter, Clyde Rhoades, Joe Proffer, Eldridge Colston, Frank Barrick, Bob Corn, Doug Simon, Herman Roberson, Wade Moore and Wilton Allen.
Family requests donations be made to Oklahoma Baptist Children's Home at Madill, c/o First Baptist Church of Marietta.
