Services for Wilma Carnahan of Vernon, Texas were at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Parks officiating. Graveside services followed at 3:00 p.m. in the Rubottom Cemetery.
Born April 19, 1929, at Wilson, Mrs. Carnahan died July 21, 1999, at her home following a brief illness. She was the daughter of Cecil and Florence Rambo Cox.
She and Ewell M. Carnahan were married March 1, 1947, at Gainesville, Texas. She moved to Vernon from Wilson in 1959. Mrs. Carnahan was a homemaker and a member of the Travelers Square Dance Club. She was also a member of the Faith Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Burkhart of Vernon and Debbie Pool of Wichita Falls, Texas; a son, Buell Carnahan of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Carnahan was preceded in death by her husband on March 30, 1989; and a daughter, Brenda Carnahan in 1973.
Assisting as casket bearers were Jesse Appleby, Mickey Ferrell, Keith Bradford, Gene Morton, Luel Duffie and Larry Rackley. Honorary bearers were members of the Travelers Square Dance Club.
