Graveside services for Nina Viola Cox were at 10:00 a.m. Monday in Oswalt Cemetery with Rev. Jim Gillum officiating.
Mrs. Cox was born October 31, 1910, in Wise County, Texas, the daughter of Thomas Harvey and Julia Ann Middleton Phillips. She died June 22 at her home at Orr.
Mrs. Cox came to the Reck community in 1915 as a young child with her family, later moving to Orr. She married Richard Cecil Cox in 1942, and he preceded her in death in 1952. Mrs. Cox was also preceded in death by four sisters, Lyda Savelle, Grace Effie Redmon on July 15, 1987, Stella Mae Howard on December 29, 1989, and Ovella Clara Whitener on May 16, 1991; and four brothers, John Phillips, Clyde Phillips, Clarence Phillips and Charlie Phillips.
She is survived by a brother, Harvey Phillips of Fort Worth, Texas.
Arrangements were under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson, with Don Baker, Harlan Hicks, Jack Eakins, Larry Bohannon, John Eakins and Frank Evans serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers were Marion Baker and Dean Redmond.
