Graveside services for Louis Walter Cornelison were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Elmore City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating.
Mr. Cornelison was born November 15, 1912, in Lebanon and died December 24, 1995, in Marietta at the age of 83.
Mr. Cornelison was reared by his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shaw in Marshall County. He lived near Fresno, California, for over 20 years, and in 1963 moved to Elmore City where he married Frona Nancy Jarrett. Following her death in 1986, Mr. Cornelison moved to Marietta where he had made his home for the past nine years. He worked for Garvin County, and he and his wife raised Black Angus Cattle at their ranch north of Elmore City. Mr. Cornelison enjoyed being involved with the Elmore City Round-up Club and the Annual Rodeo Parade. He loved dancing and hunting and fishing with friends.
He is survived by a half-brother, Jerome Cornelison of Enos; a foster brother, Bobby Gene Shaw of Dallas, Texas; a step-brother, Cecil Richard of Cartwright; four half-sisters, Daisey Hallmark of Ada, Imogene Raley of Odessa, Texas, Pansy King of Clute, Texas, and Geneva Kilgo of Marysville, California; a step-sister, Marie Stowers of Madill; three nephews, Roy Cornelison, Carol Cornelison and Dale Cornelison; and a niece, Mrs. Royce Mobbs.
Services were under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
