Services for Johnnie M. Corn, 82, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 12, at Marietta's First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tommy Higle officiating, assisted by Scott Gordon.
Mrs. Corn was born May 31, 1921, at Leon, the daughter of John S. and Minnie M. Clark Hodges. She died Saturday, November 8, 2003, at Heartland Plaza, Moore.
A resident of Ardmore since 1997, Mrs. Corn previously made her home in Love County. She and Robert R. Corn were married August 13, 1965, in Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1999. Mrs. Corn was a homemaker and an active member of Marietta's First Baptist Church where she served on the food preparation committee for the church.
Survivors include a son, Randy Kirk of Stillwater; a daughter, Lynette Kirk of Ardmore; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Simon of Oklahoma City; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Mary Hodges of Moore; a sister-in-law, Helen Hodges of Ardmore; a grandson, John Kirk; a stepgrandson, Chris Stockstill; a great-grandson, John Robert Kirk; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Mrs. Corn was also preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Raymond Kirk on March 10, 1961; an infant son, Kenneth Kirk; daughter, Peggy Kirk; three brothers, Ben Hodges, Ira Hodges and Lowell Hodges; and two sisters, Vernie Doughty and Josie Hallum.
Pallbearers werwe nephews, Brent Hodges, C.W. Hallum, Keith Hallum, Larry Taliaferro, Weldon Doughty and Jimmy Doughty. Honorary pallbearers were Herman Roberson, O.I. Vinson and Leonard Rice.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
