Services for James Lewis Clark were Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Higle, pastor of Marietta's First Baptist Church, officiating.
Born May 15, 1913, at Talala, Mr. Clark died April 24, 1996, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 82. He was the son of George William and Mary Ann Foreman Clark.
Mr. Clark, a resident of Marietta for 50 years, had worked in the oilfields and for the State Highway Department. He married Arthurrene Askew on February 17, 1947, at Paris, Texas. Mr. Clark was a veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the Army. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Arthurrene Clark of the home in Marietta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Joel Hicks of Leon and Joanne and Jim Coble of Marietta; two sisters, Ethel Clark and Olive Trissell of Nowata; four grandchildren, Misty Lynne Musick, Leslie Wynan Christian, Chad Coble and Cody Coble; and three great-grandchildren, Mindy Musick, Payton Musick and Brittany Christian.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bill Clark, Wayne Clark and Ausie Clark.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Floyd Forbes, Chris Lemons, Troy Harmon, G.W. Flanagan, Jack McIver and Derek Hallum.
