Graveside services for James Gordon Collum, 80, of Overbrook, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Eakins Cemetery in Ponder, Texas, with Wilma Collum of Whitesboro, Texas, reading the eulogy.
Mr. Collum was born September 21, 1920, at Justin, Texas, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Willie Mae Garret Collum. He died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
He had live in Love County for the past 24 years where he was a farmer and worked for Overland Construction. He and Helen Harris were married for 35 years. His wife, the love of his life, preceded him in death. Mr. Collum's hobbies included gardening and fishing.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James Jr. "Spooky" and Carol Collum of Durant; two daughters and a son-in-law, Helen and Angelo Reimers of Overbrook and Tandy Sterling of Purcell; three grandchildren, Bill McCurry, John McCurry and Lee Ann Smith; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Collum was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Pallbearers were Bill McCurry, John McCurry, Liberty Smith, Randy Freeman, Weldon Cross, Rocky Campbell, Angelo Reimers and Bob Sauerberg. Honorary pallbearers are Doc Elliott, Holley Campbell and Bill Rambo.
Services are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
