Services for Jane E. Culwell, 58, were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Marietta's First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Emmons officiating.
Born September 11, 1938, in Marietta, Mrs. Culwell died September 21, 1996, in Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City. She was the daughter of George M. and Velma Matthews Roberson.
Mrs. Culwell owned and operated Butch's Garage for the past 32 years with her husband, James A. "Butch" Culwell, Jr. She and Mr. Culwell were married in Durant in 1965. Mrs Culwell was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the Marietta City Council.
Survivors include a son, James Andrew Culwell III of Marietta; a daughter, Jan Boaz of Saguache, Colorado; two brothers, David Roberson of Marietta and George Roberson of Pauls Valley; and five grandchildren, Chrissy, Holly, Randy, Sara and Lindsey.
Mrs. Culwell was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Culwell, Jr. on November 12, 1990; a son, Randy Culwell on January 12, 1982; and her parents, George M. Roberson on February 27, 1955, and Velma Roberson on September 9, 1981.
Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Roberts, Edard Culwell, Wilton Allen, Jerry Fox, Robert Hughes and Jerry Ray Simpson. Honorary bearers included Dr. Vergil Smith, Dr. Tom O'Connor, Lester Douglass and Lewis Douglass.
