Services for Joe C. Colley, 92, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 15, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, with Bro. Travis Huffman officiating.
Mr. Colley was born March 28, 1912, in Marietta, the son of Joseph Carson and Winnie Sullivan Colley. He died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at Whispering Oaks, Ardmore.
Born and raised in Marietta, Mr. Colley had been a resident of Love County all of his life. He and Nadine Jacobs were married January 15, 1938, in the White Rose community, and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2002. Mr. Colley was a retired dairyman and cattleman. He also worked at the prisoner of war camp, Camp Howze, during World War II. Mr. Colley was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Meeks of Ardmore; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Douglas and Jamie Colley of Odessa, Texas; a sister, Winnie Spradling of Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Mr. Colley was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carson Colley; a sister, Jewel Johnson; a great-grandson; and three stepsisters.
Pallbearers were Bobby Michael, Van Burkhart, Randall Colston, Quint Colley, Bob Colston and Larry Hice. Honorary pallbearer was Cecil Hambrick.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice or the charity of one's choice, in care of the funeral home.
