Services for E.L. "Bud" Clark of Leon were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Leon with Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Born November 1, 1904, at Jimtown, Indian Territory, Mr. Clark died February 9, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 94. He was the son of Charles and Lula Carothers Clark.
A resident of Love County all of his life, Mr. Clark retired as a lineman from the Red River Valley Rural Electric Association. He also worked with the Love County Election Board for 65 years. Mr. Clark married the former Inez Washington on September 25, 1925. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leon.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Dee Clark of Ardmore; four daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Wendell Knowles of Lone Grove, Martha and Tracy Alford of Cortez, Colorado, Lula Bell and Bill Lovell of Yukon, and Gladys Suggs of Ardmore; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his wife on September 24, 1994; a brother and a sister.
Interment in the Leon Cemetery was directed by Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Kelly Bryant, Daren Knowles, Richard Wild, Joe Lee, Dillon Jones and Hank Jones. Honorary bearers were Adrian Frazier, Dallas Taliaferro, Jr., Clifford Harris, Larry Graham and fellow REA employees.
