Services for Claud M. Clifton, 71, were conducted October 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the Eastside Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Keith Miller.
Mr. Clifton was born September 27, 1921, in Burkburnett, Texas, the son of Marvin Clifton and Almeda Clifton Frazier, and died October 24, 1992, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta.
Mr. Clifton had lived in Love County most of his life. He married Dorothy Hughes June 27, 1947, in Gainesville, Texas. A retired truck driver, Mr. Clifton was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Clifton of the home in Marietta; three sons, Claud Clifton, Jr. and Tony Wayne Clifton of Marietta, and Ricky Lynn Clifton of Abilene, Texas; a daughter, Betty McKinney of Marietta; three brothers, Oliver Clifton of Tucson, Arizona, Carl Clifton of Colorado City, Texas, and Paul Clifton of Marietta; a sister, Audrey Newsome of Thackerville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were James (Bunky) Mayes, Olie Mayes, Charles Earl Newsome, John Earl Newsome, Jimmy Hughes, Bill Dvorak, and Wilton Allen.
