Graveside services for Alma James Clevenger, 79, were Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery with Ray Clevenger officiating.
Born July 18, 1918, in Cleveland, Mrs. Clevenger died August 8, 1997, in a local health care facility. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Spangler James.
Mrs. Clevenger had lived in Ardmore since 1962, moving there from Missouri. She married Benjamin Clevenger June 11, 1938, in Argyle, Texas. Mrs. Clevenger was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Benjamin Clevenger of the home in Ardmore; two daughters, Valley Peterson, also of Ardmore, and Katherine Gwin of Marietta; two sons, Thomas Clevenger of Gainesville, Texas, and Benjamin Clevenger, Jr. of Marietta; a sister, Mary Gourley of Madill; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clevenger was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Services were directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons.
