Services for William Jackson "Billy" Brown were Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Gardner officiating.

Born August 21, 1971, at Dallas, Texas, Mr. Brown died June 6, 1998, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 26. He was the son of Bobie Carl and Asynthia Swan Brown.

A resident of Love County since 1988, Mr. Brown previously lived in Whitesboro, Texas. He was employed as a technician by Jennings Ford of Marietta. Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Asynthia and Jerry Long of the home in Marietta; paternal grandmother, Eliza Mae Searcy of Caddo Mills, Texas; two brothers and sister-in-law, Carl and Vanessa Brown of Arlington, Texas, and John Aaron Brown of Marietta; two sisters and brother-in-law, Cynthia M. Brown of Norman and Jaime and Ralph Ryan of Oklahoma City; a step-brother, Val Dean of Denton, Texas; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his father, Bobie C. Brown in 1979.

Interment was in the Nelson Grove Cemetery, Woodbine, Texas, under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Tony Elzy, Sam Harris, Brandon Hammett, John Brown, Barry Gantt, Kevin Taylor, Carl Brown and Jeff Simmons.
