Services for Ricky Paul Barber, 46, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, with Lawrence Anderson officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
Born October 5, 1958, in Marietta, the son of Bill and Billie Jean Gaither Barber, he died Friday, April 8, 2005, in Ardmore.
A resident of Love County most of his life, he attended Green-ville Elementary School and Marietta High School. He also attended Southern Oklahoma Technology Center, Ardmore, where he studied small and large engines. Mr. Barber enjoyed playing music and writing songs. A disabled veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy in 1976. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his mother, Billie Jean Couser of Marietta; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Nelson and Cindy Barber of Greenville, Tom Wilson and Jim Wilson, both of Marietta, Don and Martha Wilson of Sherman, Texas, and Jerry and Suzanne Wilson of Olathe, Kansas; a sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Ray Greenwood of Marietta; a stepbrother, Don Couser of Moore; three stepsisters, Kay Manus, Sally Edwards and Carolyn Eldridge of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Barber, and a brother, Van Barber.
Pallbearers were Nicholas Barber, Jake Barber, Eric Wilson, James Greenwood, Lin Greenwood and Brian Peery. Honorary pallbearers were Jared Barber, Robert Hughes, Don Peery, Dewayne Buckhanon and Hal Fore.
