Services for R.L. Bean of Overbrook will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Eastman Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. David Colaw.
Mr. Bean was born March 31, 1940, at Collinsville, Texas, the son of Will and Daisy Patterson Bean, and died January 14, 1998, at his residence.
He had lived in Love County for the past 25 years where he was a truck driver for the Joe Brown Company and also involved in farming/ranching and the Cattleman's Association. Mr. Bean married the former Patricia Welch August 23, 1966, at Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patricia Bean of the home at Overbrook; a daughter and son-in-law, Billie Ann and Van Zimmerman of Thackerville; a son and daughter-in-law, William Lee "Dink" and Robin Bean of Ardmore; two brothers, H.W. Bean of Ardmore and Thomas Roy Bean of Sherman, Texas; a sister, Daisy Fay Clark of Collinsville, Texas; and a grandchild, Elizabeth Faye Zimmerman.
Mr. Bean was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, R.L. "Rowdy" Bean, Jr. in February 1984.
Services will be directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Eastman Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Van Zimmerman, Robert Williams, Bub Williams, Bobby Goldsmith, Rodney Pierce and Larry Lawson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
