Services for Nelda Lang Benefield, 64, were October 1 in the Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home, Odessa, Texas, followed by interment on October 2 in the Rochelle Cemetery, Rochelle, Texas.

Mrs. Benefield was born August 8, 1932, in Iowa Park, Texas, and died September 28, 1996, at her home in Odessa, Texas. She was the daughter of Claudie and Lucille Lang.

A 1949 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, she married Roger M. Benefield on August 7, 1954, in Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death in February 1994. Mrs. Benefield had worked at Gasket Service and Panhandle Packing in Odessa for many years.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger K. and Nancy Benefield of Lewisville, Texas, and Kenneth D. and Susan Benefield of Odessa; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Wayne Anderson of Odessa; three brothers, Wendell Lang of Paoli, Cletus Lang of Lindsay and Claude Lang of Weatherford; a sister, Linda Pope of Oklahoma City; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Benefield was preceded in death by her mother and father.
