Graveside serivces for Jimmie Earl Bridges were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Greenville Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Brian Swiggart, associate pastor of Marietta's First Baptist Church.
Mr. Bridges was born November 20, 1933, at Crystal Springs, Mississippi, and died September 3, 1996, at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas, Texas, at the age of 62. He was the son of Augustus and Effie McClendon Bridges.
Mr. Bridges had lived in Clinton, Mississippi, before moving to Lewisville, Texas, in 1972. He was employed by TRW as a computer technician. Mr. Bridges was a member of the First Baptist Church and also the Clinton Jaycees. He had served in the U.S. Air Force.
Among his survivors are his best friend, Mona Bland of Lewisville; three sons, Steven Bridges, Scott Bridges and Barrett Bridges, all of Lewisville; and two grandchildren, Steven Bridges and Kasey Bridges.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
