Services for James Bell, 72, of Thackerville, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 6, in the Temple Baptist Church, Gainesville, with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating.
Mr. Bell was born August 17, 1930, in Loves Valley, the son of James Oscar and Dottie Marion Bell. He died Thursday, December 5, 2002, at Denton Regional Hospital, Denton, Texas.
He and Polly Stubbs were married January 28, 1948, in Gainesville. A member of Temple Baptist Church, Mr. Bell servied as a deacon. He was a charter member of the Gainesville FFA and worked as an installer and repairman for Bell Telephone for 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Bell of Thackerville; a son, Danny Bell of Plano, Texas; three grandchildren, Natalie Bell, Jeffrey Bell and Chad Kilcrease; and two brothers, Dub Bell and Joe Bell, both of Marietta.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Diane Kilcrease.
Pallbearers were Bobby Scott, Robbie Peyrot, Joe Nichols, John Kent, Delmo Wylie and Dan Holder. Honorary pallbearer was Dennis Lopez.
Interment was in the McAlester Cemetery, Overbrook, under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home, Gainesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church Building Fund or Thackerville FFA, P.O. Box 377, Thackerville, OK 73459.
