Services for Jay B. Barksdale, 43, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at Trinity Baptist Church, Ardmore, with the Reverend Terry Tolbert officiating.
Mr. Barksdale was born November 30, 1959, at Redwood City, California, the son of Larry and Shirley Greenburg Barksdale. He died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at his residence in Ardmore.
He and Deborah Williams were married March 25, 1994, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. hey moved to Love County from Oklahoma City in 1998 and then to Ardmore in 2002. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Blue River Car Club, Modockers Car Club of Marietta, and was a member of the RSVO-Randolph Shepard's Venders of Oklahoma since 1982.
Mr. Barksdale owned and operated Jay's Vending in Ardmore, with prior locations in Oklahoma City, Enid and Ada.
Survivors include his wife, Debi of the home; a stepson, Neal Caviness of Oklahoma City; a stepdaughter, Samantha Caviness of Ardmore; his mother, Shirley Barksdale of San Francisco, California; two brothers, Gregg Barksdale of South Lake Tahoe, California, and Scott Barksdale of Sandpoint, Idaho; his mother-in-law, Wanda Williams of Marietta; and his grandfather, John Barksdale of Chico, California.
Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, Ardmore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muskogee School For The Blind, 3300 Gibson Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma 74403.
