Services for Irene Buckaloo Barber, 74, of Ardmore, were at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Marietta First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ivy Henson and the Rev. L.A. Vaughn officiating.
Mrs. Barber was born October 11, 1925, at Milburn, the daughter of Nelson Henegar and Annie Effie Lorance Dale. She died April 10, 2000 at her residence in Ardmore.
She had lived in Love County most of her life, moving to Ardmore in 1997. She and John Barber were married on October 11, 1997 at Thackerville. Mrs. Barber was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Apostolic Church in Ardmore.
Survivors include her husband, John Barber of the home in Ardmore; seven sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Buckaloo, Gary and Mary Buckaloo and Bill Buckaloo, all of Marietta, Joe and Joann Buckaloo and Jimmy Buckaloo, all of Leon, Lee Buckaloo of Thackerville, and Ralph and Sandra Buckaloo of Gainesville, Texas; four daughters and son-in-law, Quintilla Stucks of Moore, Eileen Chase of Durant, Sally and Abel Saldana of Gorman, Texas, and Mary Lou Morgan of Denver, Colorado; five brothers, Nelson Dale, Jr. and Bobby Dale, both of Borger, Texas, Johnny Dale of Milford, Louisiana, Don Dale of Azle, Texas, and Billy Dale of Oakwood; one sister, Ann Sandifer of Houston, Texas; 37 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by two husbands, Lome Price Buckaloo on August 10, 1963 and Ben Buckaloo on September 27, 1975; a daughter, Ruth Buckaloo on August 28, 1958; a son, Johnny Ray Buckaloo on April 26, 1995; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Alma and Sybil.
Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Jordan Buckaloo, Chad Buckaloo, Wayne Buckaloo, Chad Treadwell, Jim Buckaloo and Woody Parker. Honorary bearers were Jason Parker, Brett Chase, Trey Collins and other grandsons.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
