Graveside services for George William Bruce, 40, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, in the Jimtown Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Dutch Knowles presented the eulogy.

Mr. Bruce was born May 9, 1962, in Wilson, the son of Herman Dale and Virginia Sue Oliphant Bruce. He died Sunday, March 30, 2003, in Marietta.

He had been a resident of Love County most of his life.

Survivors include his parents, Herman Dale and Virginia Sue Bruce of Marietta; a brother, Buddy Bruce of Marietta; three sisters, Betty Ramsey of Gainesville, Texas, Gracie Thames of Fort Worth, Texas, and Robin Deck of Lone Grove; and his grandmother, Audry Oliphant of Gainesville.

Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by his grandfather.

Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
