Services for Beverly Jane Brannan, 80, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 29, at the Marietta Church of Christ, with Bro. Travis Huffman officiating.
Mrs. Brannan was born August 27, 1921, in Marietta, the daughter of Omri Oral "Bud" and Maggie B. Thompson Autry. She died Friday, December 28, 2001, in Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
A resident of Love County all of her life, she and John Claude Brannan Sr. were married May 11, 1939, at Tishomingo.
Mrs. Brannan was a homemaker and had been a member of the Love County Health Center Foundation Board for many years, as well as the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of the Health Center. She was also involved in the PTA and many other community activities and organizations. Mrs. Brannan was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, John Claude Brannan Sr. of the home; a sons and daughter-in-law, John Claude Jr. and Jaycile Brannan of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Dan Brown of Dallas; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Loretta Autry of Oklahoma City; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jimmie Stafford of Norman; four grandchildren, Samantha Jane Smoot, Dr. John Brannan Smoot and wife Stacy, William Ryan Brannan and John Claude Brannan III; three great-grandchildren, Erica Smoot, John Brannan Smoot Jr. and Elise Smoot; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brannan was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers were grandchildren and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Hughes, Bud Hill, Dr. J.T. O'Connor Jr., Dr. Vergil Smith, Linda Graham, Jacque Miller, Marine Jacobs, Elena Harris, and all the employees and staff of Love County Health Center and Doctors Clinic.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Love County Health Center Foundation.
