Services for Bill Benton, 63, were Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Enville Community Church with Rev. Don Williams and Rev. Hubert Sponsler officiating.
Born April 4, 1933, in Tishomingo, the son of James L. and Rosa Lee Johnson Benton, Mr. Benton died Sunday evening, January 26, in Marietta.
He had made his home in the Ardmore area before moving to Marietta in 1978. Mr. Benton married Nelda Woodell in 1964 at Tishomingo. He was office manager for Ardmore Photo Copy, retiring after more than 30 years.
Mr. Benton was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army, and a member of the Enville Community Church where he served as a deacon and on the church board.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nelda Benton of the home in Marietta; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Shelli Benton of Marietta; a brother, Sammy Benton of Ada; three sisters, Elsa Benton of Eufaula, Beulah Hull of Burneyville and Verna John of Irving, Texas; and three grandchildren, Jaron Benton, Breanna Benton and Baeli Benton.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were C.A. Robinson, Chalk Aldridge, Johnny Ruth, Dennis Lavers, Richard Vandiever and Cecil Holt. Honorary bearers were Melvin Chaney, Clayton Pryor, Roy Rowland, Ronnie Willis, Carroll Montgomery and Elvin Jackson.
