Services for Ruby Oma Alexander, 89, of Marietta were Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Burneyville Baptist Church. Officiating were Bro. Floyd Johnson and Rev. Morgan Ashworth.
Born November 5, 1909, at DeQueen, Arkansas, Mrs. Alexander died September 4, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta. She was the daughter of Henry and Julia Ann Dollarhide McKee.
A resident of Love County all of her life, she married Ben Alexander on June 17, 1928, in Marietta. Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker and a member of the Burneyville Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, L.B. Alexander of Highland, California; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharron and Preston McGehee of Marietta and LaVern and Chesley Turner of Wilson; a brother, A.C. Greer of Terral; eight grandchildren, Ben Forsythe, Allen Jackson, Pam Galles, Preston Harold McGehee, Sheila Guy, Lisa Alexander, Darren Alexander and Gregg McGehee; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband on December 12, 1996; a daughter, Yvonne Alexander on August 25, 1959; four brothers and two sisters.
Interment in the Burneyville Cemetery was directed by Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as casket bearers were Dr. Patrick Galles, Fred McKay, Brent Goodwin, Jason Jackson, Pete Wright and Bert Tickel. Honorary bearers included Dr. Tom O'Connor, Wayne Alexander and Ernest Alexander.
