Graveside services for Melvin E. Auld were Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Rubottom Cemetery. Officiating was Bud Barnes.
Mr. Auld was born April 13, 1931, at Rubottom, the son of Dewey and Laura Myrtle Martin Auld, and died June 25, 1994, in an Ardmore hospital at the age of 63.
A resident of California for 35 years, he moved to Burneyville in 1980 and had been living in Ardmore for the past two months. Mr. Auld had many jobs throughout his life, including an electrician, citrus grower and cattle business. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he was on the front line for 11 months and was platoon leader.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Auld of the home; five sons, Randy Auld of Oklahoma City, Gary Auld of Seattle, Washington, Ronald Auld of Fort Worth, Texas, Jim Hendon of Fresno, California, and John Hendon of Porterville, California; three daughters, Trish Call of Fort Worth, Linda Vidrene of Pittsburg, California, and Sharon Auld of Eugene, Oregon; a brother, Herman Auld of Terra Bella, California; two sisters, Juanita Morris of Vallejo, California, and Vallie Hogue of Lindsay, California; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Auld was preceded in death by a brother, J.W. Auld, in 1994.
Services were directed by the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers were K.O. Roper, Ron Voelker, Scott Zaccarry, Dr. Vergil Smith, Duane Davis, Mike Hall and Mark Segler.
