Services for Maggie B. Autry, 97, were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Mahota Memorial Presbyterian Church. Officiating were Dr. Glen Pool, Rev. Lawrence Anderson and Rev. Ben Scott.
Born October 25, 1900, at Grapevine, Texas, the daughter of Augustus and Flora Coker Thompson, Mrs. Autry died January 6, 1998, in Mercy Love County Health Center, Marietta.
Mrs. Autry, a resident of Love County since 1918, married Omri "Bud" Autry in 1920 at Marietta. She retired from the local U.S. Post Office after 30 years of service. Mrs. Autry was a member of the Mahota Memorial Presybterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Loretta Autry of Blanchard; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and J. Claude Brannan of Marietta and Peggy and Jimmy Stafford of Norman; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Autry was preceded in death by her husband on May 15, 1981; a brother, Roland Thompson; and a sister, Gladys Smith.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was directed by Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were David Autry, Joel Autry, Dr. Brannan Smoot, Eddie Autry, John Brannan and Brooks Howard. Honorary bearers included Eldridge Colston, Robert Hughes, Joe Pete Martin, Dr. J.T. O'Connor and Sonny Horn.
