Graveside services for Manley Allgood, Jr., 94, of Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta with the Rev. Truman Rouse officiating.
Born May 27, 1908, in Texas to Manley Sr. and Sis Lucas Allgood, he died Sept. 17, 2002, at the local hospital.
A lifelong resident of Ardmore, he worked in the oil fields for Phillips Petroleum for 18 years and was employed by Signal Oil and Gas Company before he retired. He and Lavada Hulsey were married May 9, 1927, in Rising Star, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Joe, Ardmore, Junior, Bennington and Donnie, DeSoto, Texas; two daughters, Geneva Blackman, Dallas, and Joyce Gibson, Washington, D.C.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and a grandson.
Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
