Services for Leona Mae Allen, 90, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, at Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, with Ken Pate officiating.
Mrs. Allen was born July 3, 1911, at Altus, the daughter of Lee Coleman and Mary Ann Hall. She died Saturday, September 1, 2001.
When Mrs. Allen was three months old, the family of five boys and two girls moved to Bartlesville, where she was raised. She and Henry Walter Allen Jr. were married August 11, 1935, in Tulsa, and he preceded her in death. The couple moved to the Allen home place in Laverne, where Mr. Allen was raised, to work the farm. Jaqueline Joan Allen was born April 25, 1936, and Henry Walter Allen III was born January 19, 1939. The family moved to Oregon in 1945 where they stayed for a year and then returned to Oklahoma, choosing Ponca City as their home. They moved to Enid in 1949 and remained there for 25 years. Mr. Allen retired and they moved to Lake Murray Village until two years ago when Mrs. Allen moved to Lexington to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Walt and Diane Allen of Lexington; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Bill Tinneman of Yukon; four grandchildren, Tim Tinneman of Oklahoma City, Tom Tinneman of Blanchard, Brett Allen of Owasso, and Brenda Royals of Harvey, Louisiana; and four great-grandchildren, Tawny Tinneman, Kylee Tinneman, Courtney Allen and Dalton Royals.
Mrs. Allen was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers were Tim Tinneman, Tom Tinneman, Brett Allen, Kirk Karrenbrock, Drew Royals, Gary Jackson and David Horton.
Interment was in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill
