Services for Jaryl Thurman Arthur, 38, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, in the Leon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Mr. Arthur was born April 5, 1966, in Ardmore, the son of Bennett and Joan Mondres Arthur. He died Saturday, September 25, 2004, in Ardmore.
He grew up in Leon, attending Turner Public Schools, from which he graduated in 1984. Mr. Arthur momved to Red Oak, Texas, where he was employed by Southwest Credit Services, and has been employed by MBI for the last 10 years. He had just recently returned to Ardmore. Mr. Arthur was a member of Cheek Baptist Church near Lone Grove, and the U.S. Army Reserve, Ardmore Unit.
Survivors include his son, Jake Arthur, former wife, Cindy Arthur and step-daughter Kellyn Lain, all of Burneyville; parents, Joan and Bennett Arthur of Ardmore; three sisters and brother-in-law, Janett Salazar of Corinth, Texas, Charla Arthur of Red Oak, Texas, and Joni and Marvin Conway of Lone Grove; grandmother, Zelma Monkres of Portsmouth, Virginia; nephews, Tim and Lacey Arthur, Jody Salazar, Derek and Jennifer Salazar, James and Stephanie Arthur, and Jason and Brandy Conway; nieces, Amanda Freeman, Jesica and David Gilliam, Jill Conway and Jena Arthur; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Arthur was preceded in death by a brother, Jamie Bennett Arthur in 1985; and grandparents, Thurman and Hester Monkres, Jim Monkres and Russell and Thelma Arthur.
Pallbearers were his son, Jake Arthur, nephews, Tim Arthur, Derek Salazar, James Arthur and Jason Conway, and friends, Rocky Barrick, Perry Hackney and Brent Williams. Honorary pallbearers were his nephew, Jody Salazar, and the Turner High School Class of 1984.
Interment was in the Leon Cemetery, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
