Services for Joe B. Adams, 71, of Burneyville, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, at Burneyville Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Gunnels officiating.

Mr. Adams was born December 19, 1928, at Burneyville, the son of John Homer and Jewel Scott Adams. He died Saturday, November 18, 2000, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.

He had been a resident of Burneyville all of his life. He and Dortha Wright were married September 1, 1940, at Burneyville. Mr. Adams was a retired farmer/rancher. He attended school at Burneyville and was a member of the Burneyville Baptist Church. Mr. Adams was also a member of the Marietta Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Dortha of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Adolfo Ramon of Burneyville and Cindy and Monte Dinwiddie of Ardmore; and five grandchildren, Ben Ramon, Julie Ramon, Josh Dinwiddie, Cliff Lawson and Kyle Lawson.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers were Wayland Brown, Randall Harris, Bill Kelley, Harold Lester, Bill Shankles and Wilton Allen.

Interment in the Burneyville Cemetery, was under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
