Early morning Saturday, February 12, 2022 the world lost a beautiful soul, Catherine J. Rambo at the age of 89 years young. Her journey in life began in Love County, OK on September 15, 1932, the daughter of Leon Jackson and Jessie McCarrol.

Catherine lived most of her life in Marietta and was a graduate with the Douglas High School Class of 1953. She married the love of her life, Billy Wade Rambo in May of 1954 in Gainesville, TX. Billy wanted to marry her before he served his country in the U.S. Army. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2008, four months after their 54th wedding anniversary. Catherine worked as a nurse’s assistant at Mercy Health Love County retiring May 21, 2001 with 29 years of service. In 2004, she and Billy decided to make their home in Ada, OK. Catherine was a hardworking woman who was very active in church, work, and life itself. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. To say Catherine enjoyed fishing is an understatement, she had a passion for it. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Billy Wade Rambo, Jr and wife Patricia of Dallas, TX, and Richard Lee Rambo of Ada; grandchildren, Jessica Schilreff and husband Jason of Ada, Elizabeth Rambo of Austin, TX, and Tamara Rambo of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Malachi and Braylon Schilreff; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to Catherine’s husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Rambo.

A homegoing service to celebrate the life of Catherine will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Prairieview Cemetery with Rev. Duane Talley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.

Honorary bearers are Jason Schilreff, Malachi Schilreff, and Braylon Schilreff.
