Graveside services for Billy “Bill” Royce Young, 81, of Weatherford, Texas were held at 3:30 p.. Tuesday, September 25 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville.

Born July 20, 1937 in Thackerville, the son of C.A. “Buddy” and Norma Irene McCage Young, he died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at his home following a brief illness. Bill was a member of the Choctaw Indian Tribe. He enjoyed time spent at Possum Kingdom Lake. He was a police officer and detective or the Fort Worth, Texas Police Department and was later a medical investigator for Tarrant County. He will be remembered for being a devoted father and a ‘wonderful grandfather’.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a special friend and sister-in-law, Lufern Bearden Young.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Gladys Hansen; brother, Charles Allen Young; children, Billy Charles Young, Christie Driver, Royce Gene Young and wife Kimberly, and Rick Young and wife Donna; grandchildren, Michael Young, Brian Young, Jennifer Driver, Ryan Driver, Amber Herren, Autumn Young, Garrett Young and Wyatt Young; and great-grandchildren, Aris Young, Ashton Young, Harper Young, Kenleigh Driver and Graham Herren.
