On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, the world lost a fun and loving young man, Jared Avery Wells, 21, of Thackerville, OK. Jared was born to Damon Lynn Wells and LaDona (Voyles) Wells on April 3, 2000 in Grapevine, TX.    
 
Jared attended the Thackerville Public Schools from Pre-K through 12th, minus a few years at Krum Intermediate School in Krum, TX. He was a graduate of the Thackerville High School Class of 2018. Jared continued his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK from 2018-2019. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, an Active Alumni, and the Thackerville Baptist Church Youth Group. Jared had dreams as high as the sky. His aspiration was to attend pilot school and become a Commercial Pilot. He was a Star Wars and Germany buff. Jared had smile that was contagious, a heart of gold, a sense of humor, and a love for everyone.
 
Survivors include his mother, LaDona Wells of Thackerville; father, Damon Wells of Marietta; siblings, Lauren Wells and Grayson Wells; maternal grandfather, Ronnie Voyles of Thackerville; and paternal grandmother, Helen Wells of Rhome, TX.
 
Preceding him in death is his brother, Drake Wells; grandmother, Ann Voyles; and grandfather, Larry Wells.

Serving as casket bearers are Stetson Voyles, Brayden Voyles, Ethan Vanderburg, Michael Kemp, Zack Stacey, and Brandon Miller. Honorary bearers are Gunner Cleveland, Landon Voyles, Nick Clark, the Kappa Sigma Brotherhood, Destry Rushing, and Akin Lee Shurbet.
 
Services for Jared will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Thackerville Gym with Rev. Eric Bayer officiating and Pastor Chris Mauldin assisting.

Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home of Marietta.
 

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 9 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
