Thomas Ray Hice, 87, of Thackerville, OK passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on January 19, 2022. His journey in life began in Thackerville on November 8, 1934, one of three children born to Steve Thomas and Clemmie Odell (Taff) Hice.
 
Thomas grew up in Texas and was a 1953 graduate of Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School in Fort Worth, TX. He met his high school sweetheart Loretta Ann Willbanks in 1952.  After a four-year courtship, Thomas and Loretta married on August 30, 1956 in Weatherford, TX. A few months after celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary, Loretta preceded him in death on March 5, 2017.
 
In 1996, Thomas and Loretta relocated to Thackerville from Texas. He was a residential carpenter who loved to piddle around the house and work on miscellaneous things.  Thomas was a member of the Church of Christ in Marietta. He enjoyed going on vacations and sitting on his front porch watching wildlife. He was known for his dedication and love for his family.
 
Survivors include his sons, Ronald Wayne Hice, Sr. and wife Peggy of Ryan, OK and Donald Lane Hice, Sr. of Ryan; daughter, Laura Ann Bridgman and husband Jerry of Ardmore; brother, James Hice of Thackerville; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
 
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Hice; parents, Steve and Clemmie Hice; grandson, Donald Hice, Jr.; and sister, Ruby (Hice) Nichols.
 
A private family service and interment for Thomas at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville has been entrusted to Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta, OK. Viewing for family and friends will be Monday, January 24, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Per the family request, masks will be required while inside the building.
 
Casket bearers are Gery Gierisch, Jr., Leslie Gierisch, Justin Simpson, Ronny Backus, Dustin Webb, and Wesley Smith. Honorary bearers are Ronnie Hice, Jr. and Colton Lawson.
