Willie Dean Gipson was born to Floyd and Vera (Chambers) Gipson on June
5, 1931, at Jimtown, OK. She gained her wings and joined loved ones in
heaven on Thursday, December 14, at Southbrook Healthcare in Ardmore
with her daughters by her side.
Willie Dean and H. Alvie Reed were married October 5, 1946, in
Gainesville, TX, and the couple made their home in the Leon area of Love
County for almost 60 years of marriage until his passing on August 26,
2006. She then moved to Marietta until May 2017 when declining health
made necessary a move to Southbrook Healthcare. There she received
loving care from the staff and Alpha Hospice until her passing.
First and foremost, Willie Dean was a dedicated and loving wife, mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family unconditionally
and cooked many meals for everyone. She was a hard working woman who
worked alongside Alvie in the fields and also doing other tasks on the
farm. In addition, many of her working years were at the Cookie Shop in
Marietta, in the office at the Ardmore Livestock Auction, and at the
Oklahoma Visitors Center at Thackerville where she enjoyed greeting
travelers with her loving, friendly personality. Willie Dean enjoyed
watching Thunder basketball and old country music shows. She also was an
avid reader, especially her Bible and The Guidepost. She loved the Lord
and her church family at Christ Tabernacle where she was baptized as a
member in 1998.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two brothers, Floyd
Gipson, Jr. and Wayne Gipson; sisters-in-law, Doryce Gipson and Alice
Gipson; and brother-in-law, Joe Hartless, all of her in-laws and
spouses.
Survivors to cherish her memories include two daughters, Barbara
Campbell and husband Charles of the Marsden Community and Debra Dollar
and husband Greg of Ardmore; five grandchildren, Charla Clark and
husband Donnie, Michael Campbell and wife Andrea, Alicia Henry and
husband Claude, Ambi Cheek and husband Jared, and Rob Howell; 10
great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Hartless of Yukon, OK; and many
nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
Serving as casket bearers are Michael Campbell, Garland Gipson, Rob
Howell, Don Reed, Chris Hartless, and Darrell Reed.
