Services for Robert Wayne Holland, 59, of Burneyville were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 9 in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home of Marietta with Brother David Earl Whittington officiating.

Interment followed in the Leon Cemetery.

Born October 16, 1961 at Ardmore, the son of William Alvin “Bill” and Gladys Edna Tankersley Holland, he died Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence.

Robert was a lifelong area resident. He worked in residential construction as a house leveler. Robert married the love of his life, Cheryl Buckaloo, on April 26, 1986. In high school he played all sports, but his passion was football and track. Robert was very sociable, had a great sense of humor, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church. Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Holland; infant brother, Billy Alvin Holland; and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Holland of the home; son, Robert Wayne “Robby” Holland, Jr. and daughter-in-law Jeanette of Marietta; mother, Gladys Holland of Lone Grove; sisters, Gracie Akers and special brother-in-law Russell of Lone Grove, Kay Holland of Lone Grove, and Pam Griffin and husband Carl of Ardmore; grandchildren, Trenton Joe “T.J.” Holland and Tyler Ray “TY” Holland; special aunt and uncle, Jack and Juanita Holland; special niece, Kylie Craft; special nephews, Brendon Fincher, Ethan Fincher, Billy Don Wymack, and Tommy Lee Holland; and several other nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Robby Holland, Jr., Jerry Putnam, Gary Putnam, Terry Baker, Wesley Davis, and Ronnie Stubblefield. Honorary bearers were Mike Hart, Joe Wilder, Ethan Fincher, Michael Finnegan, Michael Hart, Jr., Brandon Fincher, John Williams, Ray Willingham, and David Willingham.

The family requests donations to the memorial fund established at the funeral home.
