Services for Donald L. Harris, 76, of Burneyville were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23 in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home with Reverend Dewayne Self officiating.

Interment followed in the Leon Cemetery.

Born February 9, 1940, at Leon, the son of Charlie Nance and Loyce Byers Harris, he died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.


A resident of Love County most of his life, Don was a drywall installer in the construction industry. He and Barbara Russell were married in Gainesville, Texas on November 16, 1958. When he was younger, Don enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was of the Church of Christ faith.


Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Johnny Harris.


Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky Harris of Burneyville and J.D. and Jody Harris of Marietta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Terry White of Burneyville and Vanessa and Mike Liddell of Thackerville; sister, Connie Arnold of Blanchard; seven grandchildren, Ashley Anderson, Heather Kretzschmar, Dustin White, Casey White, Heath Liddell, Abby Duke, and Bobbie Sue Harris; and 14 great-grandchildren.


Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Harris, J.D. Harris, Dustin White, Casey White, Heath Liddell, Terry White, Mike Liddell, Donna White, Vanessa Liddell, Ashley Anderson, Heather Kretzschmar, Abigail Duke, and Bobbie Sue Harris. Honorary bearers were Marvin Ellis, Jeff Hawkins, Charlie Karlor, Michael Cole, and Dewayne Russell.
