Services for Truman Doyle Hallum, 89, of Marietta will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 19 in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brett Alberda officiating.

Interment will follow in the Leon Cemetery.

Born September 17, 1925 at Jimtown, the son of Elmus and Fannie May Chambers Hallum, he died Monday, December 15, 2014 in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta. Mr. Hallum was employed as a delivery driver for Sears for many years in addition to working as a security guard. In 1988 he retired to his hometown of Marietta.

He and Ruthie Lovica Freeman were married in Oklahoma City on May 13, 1957, and she preceded him in death on January 29, 2000.

Mr. Hallum enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes, watching Wheel of Fortune, and eating and visiting at the Senior Citizens Center. He especially enjoyed giving pecans to family and friends from the trees in his yard. Mr. Hallum was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Burl Reed; brother-in-law, Eldon Bartlett and special friend, Exie Davis.

Survivors include his son, Elmus Doyle Hallum of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Lovica May and Jay Warren of Gowen; sister, Patricia Jo Bartlett of Marietta; four grandchildren, Rance L. Warren, Keaton A. Warren, Courtney M. Hallum and Cassie E. Hallum and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers are Quenton Russell and friends from the Marietta Senior Citizens Center.
