Services for Virchie Alice Gipson, 95, of Nampa, Idaho will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 5 at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, with Scott Lane Gipson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Leon Cemetery.

Born April 15, 1914 in Enville, the daughter of William Henry Lane and Mary Carolyn McGee Lane, she died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab Center in Nampa. Virchie was raised in the Enville and Marietta area.

She married Vincent Young Gipson on September 14, 1931 in Marietta. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1994.

She lived in Madill and Lebanon for several years before moving to California in 2000 to live with her daughter Freda Harper. The Harpers and Virchie have lived the past three years in Nampa. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Vincent C. Gipson and Owen A. Gipson; and a daughter, Glynna Gipson Sturdy.

Survivors include her daughter, Freda Harper of Nampa; 10 grandchildren, Lori Harper Ross of Hesperia, California, Karen Harper Meyer of Sun City, California, Jill Harper Ezell of Anchorage, Alaska, Kevin Mark Harper of Nampa, Shelly Gipson Reed of Tulsa, Scott Gipson of Baytown, Texas, Jeffrey Gipson of Texas, Evonne Gipson Ingram, Deborah Gipson and Brent Sturdy; three sisters, Nonnie Miller of Marietta, Geneva Stroope of Midwest City and Azal Gilbert of Marietta; 37 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Sharon Hartless, Willa Dean Reed, Jeri Ault, Betty Rowland, Mary Gillespie, Lucille Otwell, Darlene Janz, Mary Jane Moore, Lou Alice Gregg, Roxy Ann Norval, and Burla Miller; and nephews, Duane Hicks, Doyle Gilbert, Darron Gilbert, Dwight Stroope and Benny Stroope.

Pallbearers will be Scott Gipson, Jeff Gipson, Doyle Gilbert, Curtis Willis, Douglas Hicks and Duane Hicks.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 4 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
