follow at Leon Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of
Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Kenneth was born November 30, 1954, at Leon, OK to the late Mr. Dallas
Dean Gilbert and Mrs. Leota Odessa (Buckhanon) Gilbert. He passed from
this life Tuesday, June 9, 2013, at Ardmore, OK.
Kenneth was raised at Leon and then graduated High School from Western
Heights in Oklahoma City. Kenneth started working with concrete at the
age of 17 and made it a career for the rest of his life. He married
Debbie Tindall on April 20, 1981, at Ardmore. Together they resided in
Leon until 2005 when they made their move to Healdton. Kenneth was
raised in the Leon Baptist Church and most recently had attended the
First Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death is his grandmother, Lillie Buckhanon; Stepdad,
Pete Hunt; Mother, Odessa Hunt; Dad, Dallas Gilbert; siblings, Thurman,
Glen, Johnny Marion "Al", Jimmy Wayne "Bodie", Gilbert and Cathy Ross,
and Carol Gilbert; nephew, Calvin Glen "Gil" Gilbert, Jr.
Survivors include his wife Debbie (Tindall) Gilbert of the home;
daughter, Nikki Gilbert of the home; sister, Carolyn Gwin of Tulsa,
Debra Key of Overbrook, Janice Cantrell and husband Danny of
Gainesville, TX; Brother, Rick Gilbert of Lone Grove; Honorary
daughters, Ryan Michele Gilbert, Ann Marie Hyman, Shelly Wingfield;
Honorary "Papa K" to numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Jared Gilbert, Dugie Gilbert, Alec Gilbert, Dink Rose,
Mark Johnson, and Kent Barrington.
Honorary bearers are Ryan Gilbert, Dr. James Forrestal, Johnny Abshire,
Rick Gilbert, and Georgia Ann Ramon.
