Born November 15, 1968, at Oklahoma City, the son of Calvin G. Gilbert, Sr. and Karen Wheatley Gilbert, he died Thursday, July 21, 2011, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. Glen was a Murray State College alumnus who graduated with honors. He was Phi Theta Kappa president and the Student Veteran Association vice-president. He was also studying Computer Information Systems at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He enjoyed spending time with his children, Ashley Smith and Hayden Gilbert, and grandchildren, Michael “Hot Rod” Smith and Keaira “Klyde” Howell. He loved fishing, camping and working with computers. He was loved by many, befriended by most, and will be greatly missed by all.

Preceding him in death were his father, Calvin G. Gilbert, Sr.; his grandparents, William and Velma Wheatley, Dallas Gilbert, and Pete and Odessa Hunt.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Karen Gilbert and Gordon “Peewee” Fultz of Marietta; the mother of his children, Margaret Gilbert of Lone Grove; his daughter, Ashley Smith and son, Hayden Gilbert, both of Lone Grove; two grandchildren, Michael Smith and Keaira Howell of Lone Grove.

Serving as pallbearers were Cameron Williams, Chris Buckaloo, Chris Rickets, Dillon Beckelheimer, Gary Russell and Gordon Burris. Honorary bearers were Mark Wheatley, Brendon Wheatley, Britney Baker, Glendal Baker, Darla Bradley, the Mercy Memorial Medical Team and numerous others.
